Jo and Wayne popped into The Artizen on a whim, simply to look at the art. They had renovated their home themselves and were experienced in the building world, but one thing continued to frustrate them. Designing a home that actually worked for their family felt impossible.
They explained how they often disagreed on style, how they loved entertaining, and how they had repeatedly bought good quality furniture only to dislike it once it was in the space. Items were replaced, sometimes even thrown away, because nothing ever felt quite right.
A visit to their home quickly revealed the real issue. The furniture was not the problem. The pieces were beautiful and well made. They simply had not been brought together in a way that reflected how Jo and Wayne lived.
Rather than replacing everything, the Artizen team focused on balance and flow. Their open plan space was treated as a series of connected areas, each with its own purpose. Existing furniture was kept and elevated through thoughtful styling, additional seating, and carefully chosen accessories.
Art set the tone. Pieces by Chuck and Joe Galindo introduced colour, energy, and warmth, guiding the rest of the design. The living area became layered and welcoming, while the dining space was made practical and inviting through a combination of chairs and a bench, perfect for family gatherings.

What Jo and Wayne feared might be too bold quickly became the heart of their home. A space once overlooked transformed into an area they loved to use and show off.
When the Artizen team returned later, nothing had changed. The room still worked. It had not dated. It had not needed altering. Jo said she wished she had found the team sooner. Wayne said he felt relief knowing they would no longer waste money replacing furniture that never felt right.
Today, their home feels complete. When they walk in, they relax. Everything has its place, and the space finally works for their family.
