Where the kitchen began the journey, the bedroom demanded a complete reset.
On first entering the space, the imbalance was immediate. Bright teal walls, mismatched tones between carpet and paint, unrelated textures, and lighting that simply did not belong. Despite having quality furniture, the room felt claustrophobic, disjointed, and far from the calm, restful space a bedroom should be.
It was clear this was not a room to adjust. It needed to be turned on its head.

With an open brief and the freedom to explore different directions, Andreea led the design, starting once again with the art. A contemporary figurative collection by Chuck was chosen to bring a sense of sophistication and energy into the room. The pieces added colour and vibrancy, but in a way that felt elevated rather than overwhelming.

Alongside this, the owners expressed an interest in incorporating birds into the design. Rather than forcing this into the artwork, it was introduced through a carefully selected wallpaper behind the television, creating a feature wall that added interest and layering without disturbing the calm of the room.

Colour was approached differently here. Although the room had previously leaned towards brighter tones, the decision was made to move towards a softer, more timeless palette. Greys formed the foundation, supported by warmer, natural tones throughout the accessories and finishes. The result was a space that felt more peaceful, more flexible, and far better suited to rest and relaxation.

PropFix were essential to this particular part of the project as they were tasked with making sure the colours and finish of the bedroom matched The Artizen’s vision. Once the decorating was complete, the flooring was replaced with a textured carpet, chosen not just for comfort but for practicality, reducing visible wear and maintaining a refined finish over time.

Curtains replaced the existing blinds, introducing warmth, softness, and privacy. Paired with voile layers, they allowed light to be controlled gently throughout the day, softening the room and enhancing the overall atmosphere.

We had tried so many things and nothing worked. The Artizen team completely reimagined the space and created a room we now genuinely look forward to spending time in.

The existing furniture was retained and used as a strength within the design. It was high quality and well suited to the space. A new cabinet was introduced to balance the layout and provide additional storage, ensuring the room felt complete rather than compromised.

Lighting became one of the defining features of the room. A new chandelier, formed of glass with subtle antique brass tones, replaced the previous fitting, instantly elevating the space. Additional lighting was layered throughout, all fitted with smart controls, allowing the entire room to shift in tone and intensity without the need for harsh overhead lighting.

The bed was completely restyled. New bedding, pillows, and layers were introduced to create comfort at the highest level. A fur throw added warmth and texture, while neutral cushions kept the look grounded, accented by feature cushions that echoed the tones within the wallpaper.

A reading chair was positioned by the window, offering both function and form, while also providing a practical place to store cushions in the evening. Beside it, a realistic orchid added softness without maintenance.

Scent was carefully layered within the space. A combination of warm, earthy base notes such as amber, musk, vetiver, and oud was balanced with fresher top notes including eucalyptus and oceanic tones. The result was a fragrance that felt calming, subtle, and perfectly suited to a bedroom environment.

Plants were introduced not only for visual balance but to improve air quality, contributing to better rest and overall wellbeing.

The wardrobe area became an unexpected highlight. As a spontaneous addition and a true wildcard within the design, Andreea introduced a bold new artwork by Joe Galindo, a striking lion piece that brought energy and presence into the space. Positioned behind a bespoke console table, it created a moment of impact, transforming a functional area into something memorable. The console itself offered flexibility, acting as both a dressing table and a design feature, and quickly became one of the owners’ favourite elements in the room.

Lighting and styling were extended into this space, ensuring it felt just as considered as the main bedroom.

Throughout the room, every detail was addressed. From additional lamps placed on cabinetry to subtle styling on surfaces, nothing was left unresolved. Even the radiator was softened visually through the placement of a console and surrounding elements, allowing it to blend rather than distract.

The final result is a bedroom that feels calm, cohesive, and intentional. A space that supports rest, reflects personality, and offers both function and comfort in equal measure.
