There was a bed, a chest of drawers, a dressing table, and a rug. Functional, but without cohesion. Shelving remained unstyled, and the room, while pleasant, did not feel considered or complete.
Having already been invited to style another bedroom in the home, the team at The Artizen saw an opportunity to take this space one step further and bring it to life as well.
Working with what was already there, the approach was subtle but intentional.
Two bedside tables were introduced, carefully selected to mirror the soft curves of the bed and bring balance to the space. Their placement also helped soften the presence of a heater on one side of the room, allowing it to blend rather than stand out.
Lighting was kept light and airy. Glass based lamps with linen shades added softness without overwhelming the room, maintaining a sense of openness while still introducing warmth.
As artwork was not an option for this space, styling became even more important.
”It was the room we never quite finished. Now it feels just as complete as the rest of the house.

The bed was completely redressed, combining new elements with existing pieces. Cushions and throws already owned by the client were reworked and layered more effectively, alongside new additions that elevated the overall look. The result felt cohesive rather than replaced.
Shelving was styled with a mix of personal items and carefully chosen accessories, ensuring the space felt individual without becoming cluttered.
A chest of drawers that had previously felt out of place was repositioned, moving it away from the immediate focal point of the room. This simple shift changed how the space was perceived, creating the illusion of more openness and allowing the rest of the room to take centre stage.
Greenery was introduced through an artificial plant, chosen for its realism and ease. Placed within a woven basket rather than a traditional planter, it added both texture and warmth.
In one corner, a small reading area was created. Two armchairs, paired with a simple table and a soft floral arrangement, offered a quiet and inviting place to sit. The natural tones of wood and linen grounded the space, while cushions reflected the mint and pink palette, tying the room together.
Scent completed the experience. A fragrance with soft berry notes was chosen, subtly echoing the colours within the room while creating a light, comforting atmosphere.
The result is a space that feels calm, considered, and complete. A room that no longer feels forgotten, but instead quietly inviting.
