Geoff and Julie first wandered into The Artizen by chance. What began as a friendly conversation quickly became the start of a creative partnership centred around trust, vision, and a shared love for transforming a space into something truly personal.
At the time, they felt their living room lacked warmth and identity. They had artwork they liked, but they struggled to picture how anything would work together. Like many people, they were also cautious at first about letting someone into their property. That changed within minutes. As they put it, “you get the feeling,” and the team’s warmth, enthusiasm, and relaxed approach put them instantly at ease.
During the first visit, The Artizen team spent time getting to know them rather than focusing immediately on the art. Learning about their life, their time living on a boat, and their daily routines helped shape choices that suited the way they lived, not just the way the room looked.
Using photographs taken during the consultation, the team digitally placed different artworks onto their walls, helping Geoff and Julie see not just one option, but the possibilities. What surprised them most was how their “safe” choices soon evolved into something bolder, more characterful, and far more personal. A playful Top Cat artwork became the unexpected star of the room, symbolising Julie’s nickname given by her dad and bringing a touch of personality that made their space unmistakably theirs.

The Artizen completed the finishing touches in one carefully planned installation day, bringing in coordinated lighting, throws, cushions, florals, and accessories that worked seamlessly with the artwork. Geoff and Julie returned home to an emotional reveal. They were overwhelmed.
For Geoff and Julie, the transformation felt “like Christmas,” full of joy, surprise, and an immediate sense of warmth and comfort.
Months later, they still speak about their living room with the same excitement. It is cosy, functional, and filled with meaning. They often stand in the doorway just to take it all in. The new electric fire has added extra ambience, and even their dogs love relaxing in the space. Most importantly, Geoff and Julie say the project has completely changed how they feel about their property. It gave them pride, confidence, and a renewed sense of home.
