For years, the owners had been searching for the right artwork for a particular space in their home. They knew they were drawn to wildlife and had always wanted a Highland bull, a subject carrying personal meaning because of their farming background. Yet finding the right piece proved impossible. They struggled to find a style they both connected with, an artist whose portfolio they both agreed on, and most importantly, an artwork that captured the character and presence they imagined for the space.
That is when The Artizen suggested a commission.
There is always a leap of faith involved in commissioning, because you are investing in something not yet seen, but equally it offers something no ready made artwork can. The opportunity to create exactly what belongs in your home.
”We had looked for years and never found the right piece. This was exactly what we had hoped for and more.

After visiting the property and understanding both the hallway and the wider interior, Andreea suggested working with Joe Galindo. His work felt ideal, combining bold wildlife subjects, rich colour and strong personality, alongside the vibrancy the space had been missing.
The brief centred around a Highland bull, importantly a bull rather than a cow, complete with the characteristic nose ring that was an essential detail for the owners. It was these personal specifics that made commission the right route, because the artwork needed to feel authentic as well as expressive.
Joe Galindo brought all of that to life beautifully. Titled Inspiration, the finished piece carries the bold presence of the Highland bull while layering in colour and energy that transformed the hallway completely. It delivered the brightness the space needed, while retaining the sense of character and familiarity the owners had hoped for.
Most importantly, it gave them the artwork they had been looking for all those years, or perhaps more accurately, the artwork they could never have found until it was created.
That is often the beauty of commission. Sometimes the perfect piece does not already exist. Sometimes it has to be painted.
The owners adore it to this day, and Inspiration now takes pride of place in their home as a piece created not just for a wall, but for them.
