ABOUT THE EVENT

Glastonbury may be taking a year off… but the volume is going up.

The Art of Music is a vibrant exhibition that brings together contemporary art and iconic music culture, led by Linda Charles.

Known for her expressive portraits of legendary musicians, Linda’s work captures the personality, attitude, and energy of the artists who have shaped generations. Her use of bold colour and movement creates artwork that feels as alive as the music itself.

This exhibition has been carefully orchestrated as a painted playlist. As you move through the gallery, you will hear the music of the very icons featured on the walls, creating a connection between sound and canvas that transforms how the artwork is experienced.

A curated collection of original artworks and limited editions will be on display, including new releases fresh from the studio.

Linda will be in the gallery sharing the inspiration behind her work and the stories connected to each piece, offering a deeper insight into the relationship between music and art.

Enjoy a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere with a glass of bubbly as you explore a space that is bold, expressive, and amplified in every sense.

All guests will receive a complimentary Artizen gift bag as a thank you for joining us.

A lively and immersive opportunity to experience music through art, and art through music.

About The Artist

Linda Charles studied textiles and fashion at university and her background is evident throughout her work, whether it be with heavy texture, using multiple forms of mixed media including gold and silver leaf or simply the patternation in her artwork. Linda has spent her career developing new ideas and continues to break new ground as she strives to produce work that both connects on cerebral and visual levels and produces the same feelings in the viewer as it does with her when she paints it. More recently, it is he sell out Pulp re-imagined collections that have highlighted her dexterity with a paintbrush, where she combines her love of the imagery of the pulp paperback books of the 40s, 50s and 60s with a back catalogue of famous hits, artists, and lyrics. Music has always been an important part of Linda’s creativity and she always paints to music in her studio. She had the idea of combining elements of classic songs and artists with the look and feel of old paperback books when she came across a box of vintage books in the attic. “The first one I came across featured a stunning women running from a pair of headlights following her in a remote area – Immediately ‘Born to Run’ by Bruce Springsteen played in my head and the concept was born! I have so much fun with these collections because they combine the two artistic concepts of audio and visual. I’ve received so many lovely comments from all walks of life, whether that be from famous songwriters to future brides or just pure music lovers and art collectors.’ In the early 2000s Linda became one of the most renowned abstract artists in the UK. At the advent of the interior design boom, her use of structure, texture, bold colours and gold and silver leaf propelled her into mainstream contemporary art. With a career spanning over 25 years, she continues to use her vast experience and enjoys exploring new techniques and mediums to produce striking collections.
