Wendy’s journey with The Artizen began with a single piece of art. What she did not realise at the time was that it would mark the beginning of a completely new chapter. A fresh start. Not just for her home, but for how she lived within it.

Her country property in Warwickshire was full of charm and character, but time had taken its toll. Dark colours, heavy fabrics, and dated finishes no longer reflected the life Wendy was stepping into. The house needed more than updating. It needed renewal.

As Wendy began working with Andreea, she slowly built an art collection that brought her genuine joy. Each piece felt personal. Meaningful. Like a window into her own world. But while the art felt right, Wendy was unsure how to integrate those extraordinary pieces into her home.

That was when the project evolved.

With art and interiors brought together seamlessly at The Artizen, Andreea stepped in not only as Wendy’s art consultant, but as her interior designer too. When asked about her style, Wendy admitted she did not know what it was. Andreea understood immediately that this was about more than design. It was about helping Wendy rediscover confidence, both in her space and in herself.

The transformation was carefully planned and installed in one complete moment. Lighting, curtains, furniture, rugs, accessories, art, scent, plants, and finishing touches were all brought together at once. Every decision was made with care, treating Wendy’s home as if it were their own.

Natural tones were chosen to soften the room and highlight the beautiful beams and character of the property. Creams, greys, and taupes created a calm foundation, allowing the art to lead the space. The lighting was designed so the artworks themselves became a source of warmth in the evening, creating atmosphere without overpowering the room.

I do not know if this is your own personal style or whether you read me this well, but it is exactly how I wanted my room to look. What is equally important to me is that my children have also seen it and they absolutely adore it. They said they would happily have this as their own home, which matters deeply to me because one day, when I am no longer here, it is comforting to know they will have a space they truly love. Thank you for becoming part of our family throughout this process, for bringing my vision to life, and for showing me that I do in fact have a style of my own.

Art sat at the heart of the design. Pieces by Paul James introduced a bold, urban edge inspired by British canal life, while softer abstract works by Anna Cher reflected Wendy’s love of horses and the surrounding countryside. Together, they created balance. Strength and softness. Confidence and calm.

Textures and layers completed the space. Voiles and curtains softened the light. Ceramics, warm woods, glass, and antique brass added depth. Personal objects and memories were thoughtfully displayed so the room felt unmistakably Wendy’s.

The day before installation, Wendy shared a moment that stayed with the team. A friend had asked her what the room was going to look like once everything was finished. Wendy paused, then laughed, realising she genuinely did not know. For the first time, she had trusted someone else completely to see her, understand her, and bring it all together on her behalf. And it was totally worth it.

When Wendy walked into the finished room, she cried. Tears of happiness. When asked if there was anything she would change, her answer was immediate. No.

What mattered most was what came next. Wendy said she did not know whether Andreea had read her so well or whether it was simply instinct, but the room felt exactly how she wanted it to feel. Her children loved it too, and knowing that they would one day cherish the space brought her deep comfort.

This was not just a transformation of a room. It was a fresh start.
