Colin Brown
After completing a four year course at Canterbury College Of Art, I embarked on a career for 24 years as an illustrator- visualizer based in the West Country. As a freelance I was able to work for diverse range of Advertising, Design and 3 D companies in Bath, Bristol as well as London and Europe. I had the opportunity to work on many campaigns for many different companies Hasbro, Mattel, Cadbury’s, Saga, Corgi Toys to name just a few. In many cases I worked closely with the designers producing visuals and taking the project right through to the finished illustration stages. I latter went on to illustrate for publishing, on teaching books, magazines, posters as well as being commissioned by The Guinness Book Of Records.
I now am a fine artist producing mainly one subject, being street scenes of the world. I like to evoke a sense of atmosphere and the feeling of being their through a loose style taking my influence from the Impressionists and Fauvism, using my visualising ways to produce the work. I take on commissions and along side this I also teach workshops and give live demonstrations.
My work is mostly influenced from the Impressionists, although I like all forms of painting. I love to paint in a way that is free and loose, not being constrained by detail. I want to convey a sense of atmosphere and as if the painting was a fleeting moment in time. I concentrate on the light as being the most important thing within the painting and only adding the detail to knit the scene together, when needed.
Having been as a Visualiser in the past as well as an Illustrator, it is from the visualising that I draw a lot of my technique today. I have the one style and like to try different things within it. I love all forms of art, but one of my biggest inspirations is Monet and the way he used paint and the single strokes of applied colour. I also like to make every stroke count and to be seen. This can give a great sense of movement.
I am really excited to see what 2020 has to offer and to progress my artist Journey with Buckingham Fine Art.

- Alison JohnsonAlison’s atmospheric oil paintings are vibrant and seductive and focal points for any space. By expressing the power of light playing amongst the water drops, this artist shows the abstract, surreal side to the natural world. Her seascapes follow a deep tradition which Johnson modernises and brings to a contemporary forefront. Colours sink below a piercing white surface as oceans and landscapes drift in and out of a sweeping hazy mist. The sky appears deep and brooding, the colours revealing a darkness that battles with the flashes of light. - Anna CherHi there! My name is Anna Cher and I paint the mood for your walls. I’m a passionate floral and animal abstract painter. Being focused on the beauty of nature I try to catch a balance between realistic and abstract art. Experimenting with brushstrokes, layers, and colours I manage to find that delicate balance between the energy of mark-making and perception of reality. - Craig FoordCraig John Foord was born in 1986 in Brighton. He completed a National Diploma in Art and Design at Eastbourne College. Displaying a vivid connection between nature and art, Craig has combined his initial profession as a tree surgeon with his passion for sculpting. Whilst his paintings are mesmerising, his approach to resin in his freestanding sculpture work is likewise impressive. The initial process of shaping his resin works are achieved with the use of a chainsaw. Each piece is then shaped and polished until Craig is entirely happy with the elemental finish of each piece. Craig has always had a strong emotional connection with outer space, and the exploration of other planets, this is reflected in his recent experiments with different medias, of late exploring abstract painting.

- John HorsewellEssex- born John Horsewell had a love for art from an early age; unsurprising when you consider that his parents and grandfather were all professional artists. Whilst at school he experimented with all forms of media, soon realizing that oils were most suited to his style of working, best allowing him to convey the light and shadow he desired. Upon leaving school Horsewell entered the world of interior design, continuing to paint in his spare time. He exhibited extensively; first locally and then- as his reputation gained weight- across Manchester, Birmingham and London. In 1978 he decided to pursue painting as a full time profession, and has experienced great success in doing so. Horsewell most frequently chooses to depict his own most loved landscapes, from the vistas of Southern Europe to the tranquil shores of Florida, where he spends much of his time. His paintings are executed using both brushes and palette knives, giving them their distinctive texture. - Joss ClapsonGrowing up in the Essex countryside, Joss has continuously drawn from early childhood. Self-taught and always experimenting with different mediums including Ink, pastels, charcoal and oils she has developed a style taking inspiration from the reckless youth culture of the 60’s. Her passion for the fashions and culture of this era feature heavily in her work and by using unconventional skin tones cleverly blended with a unique and eccentric style she brings each scene to life. ‘I’ve always considered colour and texture to be the two main elements in my paintings, the colour helps to captivate the subject with the texture creating a careless and disordered feel to each piece.’ With her time in the studio providing a comforting outlet for Joss, the opportunity to be able to share her work with others is a dream come true.

- OviWhat can we say about ‘OVI’, well he’s a creative force to reckoned with, and that’s all thanks to his parents. A father who has worked in designing Print media advertising his whole life and a mother who is avid Photographer forever collecting and taking images from her surroundings. Not only does he take inspiration from his parents but he is heavily influenced by the repetition cycle of fashion trends. How every style comes back around after having its time in the limelight, to shine once again. By doing this Ovi can pre-empt the next big trend and use it to be one of the few artists fronting the next biggest movement. Forever changing his styles and avenues of interest, Ovi just won’t stand still for a minute, always merging ideas together into a brand new third idea. 1+1 =3
- Kimberley HarrisOne of Kimberleys earliest memories was her father, a great lover of impressionist art, taking her to a JMW Turner exhibition at the Tate Gallery. That was it – she was going to paint like this genius one day and ten years later in 2005, she gained a Diploma in Art and Design. She re-ignited her passion for painting in 2014 after meeting a renowned artist who introduced her to oils and the palette knife. Says Kimberley: I quickly developed my own signature style, focusing on the natural beauty of the countryside that I am so lucky to be surrounded by. With an emphasis on colour and light and how one affects the other at different times of the day, Turners artistic inspiration is never far from my thoughts. The process of layering and blending the palette knife work to obtain the right tone, texture and light is so important to me. To date, Kimberley has sold paintings all over the UK with several finding their way to the USA and Australia.
- Michael AbramsAfter leaving school, Michael worked as a fork lift driver for ten years. During that time he worked in the evenings as a freelance greeting card artist, developing techniques and ideas, working with all the major Greeting card publishers Success in this area meant that he was finally able to follow his dreams and become a full-time artist in 1990. Since then Michael has worked and exhibited in New York and designed a full range of ceramics for Wedgwood featuring one of his teddy bear characters. Michael continues to see his fine art featured in galleries and homes in the UK and around the world.
- Neil CarrollNeil is a self-taught artist from London. His wish to become a painter was always blocked by real life commitments, but the desire never left him. Painting in oils since 2011, Neil fulfilled his ambition, becoming a full-time artist in 2017. One of Neil’s paintings was selected for the Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Exhibition in the Mall Galleries, London, in 2014. Since then, Neil has been exploring and developing his own style. ‘I don’t set out to paint what is in front of me, I try to create something with atmosphere and interest based on the subject. - Nigel CookeNigel Cooke was born in Mirfield, West Yorkshire and has art running through his veins. Nigel joined the Merchant Navy after leaving school and subsequently has held a number of jobs on the road to becoming a full-time artist. These included joining Butlins as their resident caricaturist and entertainer. He later went on to open caricature concessions on Blackpool’s Central Pier and Pleasure Beach, in the Trafford Centre Mall in Manchester, and at Alton Towers. He has also worked as a character designer for the Hong Kong based C.I.M International and remains a member of the National Caricature Network in the USA. - Leanne ChristieLeanne Christie was born in Warwickshire, England. As a family Leanne moved to Cornwall on the coast near Gwithian Towans where she spent her teenage years. This area is Leanne’s main inspiration for her many seascapes. Inspiration: Leanne paints vibrant flowerscapes, English country gardens & wild flower meadows. Professionally painting for over twenty years, she has been described as one of the most prolific artists in recent years. - Leigh LambertLeigh was born and raised in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, where he resided for the first twenty years of his life. Lambert began to draw as soon as he could hold a pencil, with his family quickly recognising his artistic flair. As he progressed through school his exceptionally detailed creations captured the attentions of his teachers, who admired his canny knack for capturing a view. However, the artist describes himself as mostly self taught, having received no formal art qualifications or training. Lambert relocated to Warwickshire with his family in 1996, where he focused on the development of his technique. - Scott TetlowBorn in Rochdale in 1969, Scott developed a passion for art as a young boy. During his late teens Scott spent his free time sketching punks and designing album covers. It was this body of work that earned him a place at Cheltenham University, where he gained his fine art degree. In 2002, his much-loved studio burnt to the ground and he lost everything. Unable to continue both practically and emotionally, Scott threw himself into teaching, believing that his art career was now just part of his past. - Tony HinchliffeI have always loved the sense of escapism that comes with creating artwork. I am passionate about exploring my creativity, constantly looking at developing my techniques so I can keep that feeling of energy within my work. When someone is emotionally moved by looking at my artwork that is a big motivation for me as I have always liked to please people through my painting. My preferred medium is oil paint, I do sometimes create an acrylic underpainting first as I really like the way the oil paint behaves when applied over acrylic. I often dilute the oil paint down with turpentine in the initial stages and use it like watercolour. My Figurative painting is all about depicting the mood and intimacy within a moment, using a loose approach to my brushwork, trying to be spontaneous while carefully considering placement of strong contrasting values to create depth. I have spent thousands of hours drawing figures from life, this has been fundamental to the development of my figurative painting style – mainly because I get to observe directly the little details in body language that can suggest all manner of narrative, my favourite one is that everyone deserves to feel loved.…
