His journey with The Artizen began one evening when he walked into the gallery looking for art. His intention was simple. To find pieces that could create focal points and bring interest to his walls. Andreea was working as the art consultant that evening, and together they began exploring different options.
It quickly became clear that Julian was drawn to artwork with depth and narrative. Pieces that told a story, felt playful yet meaningful, and carried colour and character. Rather than rushing the decision, Andreea suggested visiting the property to better understand how the house could become a home.
That visit changed everything.
By visualising artwork within the space, Julian and Andreea soon realised that the work of Paul James was the perfect fit. The cultural references, hints of music and travel, and the balance between urban edge and refined realism felt instinctively right. Pieces such as Chillin and Grizzly were chosen for the living room, alongside a work by Martin Robson to sit above the log burner, completing the story beautifully.
A date was set to install the artwork.
”I trusted Andreea completely. What she created gave my home something I did not realise I was missing. It finally feels like my sanctuary.

As the day approached, Andreea had a strong sense that while the art alone would make a powerful impact, the space had the potential for something more. On the day of delivery, before stepping inside, she gently asked Julian if he would be open to going beyond the original brief. She explained that she could install the art as planned, or, if he trusted her, she could style the room too.
Julian did not hesitate. He said yes.
The Artizen team began layering the space with care. Lamps softened the lighting. Plants introduced life and movement. Cushions and blankets echoed the colours within the artwork while working with the existing furniture. Flowers, candles, ornaments, and subtle accessories added warmth and depth. Each element was chosen with intention, turning the house into something that finally felt like home.
When Julian walked back into the room, he broke down in tears. It was a quiet and deeply moving moment. One that reflected trust, vulnerability, and the emotional weight of starting again. For the Artizen team, it was a reminder that their work goes beyond styling. It is about creating spaces where people feel safe, grounded, and proud.
That day marked the beginning of a much bigger journey. Julian discovered a world of art he felt completely at home in, and his relationship with The Artizen continued to grow. Together, they went on to restyle and redesign more of the house, shaping it around his lifestyle and future plans.
What began with a single piece of art became something far richer. As with the work of Paul James itself, what you see is only the surface. It is the care, the thought, and the extra step beyond the brief that make all the difference.
